ABOUT APRIL DIDOMENICO
While working as the Film Scoring dept. assistant, she had the opportunity to collaborate and work with students in an Advanced Orchestration course for 4 semesters. This is where her love for orchestration and being part of a composer's team truly began to take shape. Every week she was helping student composer's to print, proof, and prep their work to be recorded by the Berklee Film Scoring Studio Orchestra in the Shames Family Scoring Stage, where she would help as a booth reader and record take notes.
She had also re-orchestrated and prepped works for visiting artists such as Alan Silvestri, Nami Melumad, Dara Taylor, and Stephanie Economou.
Among her time there, she also had the opportunity to work on the music for the Berklee Alumni Awards events as an Orchestra Manager and Librarian for the 2022 awards honoring Pinar Toprak and as an Arranger, Copyist, and Conductor for the 2023 awards honoring Amie Doherty, Quinton Morris, Mark Kelley, Tommy Torres, and Courtney Harrell.
Beyond this work she was also a leading member of the board and the Head Librarian for the Berklee Motion Picture Orchestra for 5 semesters, where she also arranged two works for the group to perform in concert.
Since moving to Los Angeles, April has been working as a Copyist and Orchestrator with Joy Music House where she has worked on projects such as Presumed Innocent, Red White & Royal Blue, Turning Point: The Bomb and The Cold War, The Exorcist: Believer, Scout's Honor: The Secret Files of the Boy Scouts of America, and many more.
She has also orchestrated and co-arranged Kathaj Copley's Nova for a 93-piece orchestra for an orchestral album to be released in Summer of 2024 celebrating NASA's Chandra-X Telescope. This was conducted by April and was recorded at Sony Scoring Stage in June 2024.
April is originally from New Hampshire but is now based in Los Angeles. April also began playing flute when she was 12 and later went on to study cello and piano as well.

With an intense interest in music and performance, especially music theory, counterpoint, analysis, and notation, April DiDomenico went to study at Berklee College of Music in Boston, MA ('19-'23). After graduating Summa Cum Laude with her Bachelor degrees in Film Scoring and Composition with a minor in Contemporary Conducting, April moved to Los Angeles to pursue her career as an Orchestrator, Copyist, Conductor, and Music Librarian.
During her time at Berklee, April received the Michael Kamen Award ('22) and the BMI Scholarship Award ('22) from the Film Scoring department for her work as a film composer and her collaboration within the department.
